Want to go quad biking in the UK mountains? Have questions? You have come to the right place. We have answered some of the most frequently asked questions and hopefully, help clear things up for you.
Is quad biking safe?
Though quad biking involves four wheel ATVs, accidents aren’t impossible. However, as long as you are wearing proper safety equipment and follow instructions for safe driving, you don’t need to worry about safety.
Can I go quad biking without prior experience?
This depends on where you want to go quad biking. But in most cases, you can join the group even if you have never driven an ATP before because you’ll be provided full training before going into the mountains. Be sure, however, to let the tour provider know that you have no prior experience.
What is the minimum age requirement?
For most quad biking tours, you need to be at least 18 years old but there are also tour providers with lower minimum age requirements. So if you’re planning a family adventure, be sure to inform yourself about the minimum age requirement.
Most quad biking tours include an ATV, basic safety equipment and a licensed instructor who will teach you everything you need to know to be safe while having fun. Accommodation is typically also provided. The tours and things included, however, vary greatly from one provider to another. You are therefore recommended to ask what is and what isn’t included before making any reservations.
How much time will we spend on ATVs?
While some packages foresee only one to two hours of quad biking and the rest of the time for other activities, there are also full-day quad biking packages.
What to wear?
You are advised to wear comfortable and warm clothing but be sure to wear something that you won’t feel sorry for getting muddy. Also be sure to take some waterproofs if they are not included in the package.
How many people are in the group?
This varies greatly from one tour provider to another. There can be as many as 20 or as few as 6 people. We advise you to look for packages with small groups as you will see and experience more than you would in a group of 20 people.
When is a good time to go quad biking?
It is possible to find quad biking packages all year round which are very popular if you would like to go into the mountains, you are recommended to postpone your trip until late spring or summer.
